We are excited to share that Hartford Public Schools will once again participate in the Michigan Summer Food Service Program through the Meet Up and Eat Up initiative this summer!

Free, nutritious meals will be available for all children and teens ages 18 and under at Redwood Elementary throughout the summer. There is no registration, no paperwork, and no cost to families.

The Meet Up and Eat Up program helps ensure children continue to have access to healthy meals during the summer months when school is not in session. Meals are free and available to all children and teens, regardless of household income.

Recently, the entire 4th grade at Redwood Elementary participated in an electrical safety poster contest through MEC (Midwest Energy and Communications). Yesterday, Lori from MEC came to announce the poster winners. The winner of the contest is Jimena Hernandez from Ms. Lorenz &. Ms. Hallgren's room. Her poster design warning about fishing near power lines will go on a billboard for all to see this summer!

Second place and honorable mentions went to McKynlee Hickmott-Brown and Mateo Ortega from Ms. Klein's room. Great job everyone! MEC was very impressed with our students' artwork and great behavior during their presentation!
