The Hartford Public Schools Back to School Bash is taking place on Wednesday, August 20th! Kick off the new school year with rides, vendors, and fun!

The event takes place from 5:00-7:00pm in the High School Gym and Football Practice Field.

Businesses and Organizations that wish to have a table at this event, please fill out the table request form linked below:

Our three GSRP teachers will have a table set up on August 19 for the Open House/Meet the Teacher night. They will be there to meet students and sign-up new students for GSRP.

Preschool starts September 8.

The Hartford Public Schools Open House is coming up on Tuesday, August 19th from 3:30-6PM! All buildings will be open for parents and students to meet the teachers and get prepped for the upcoming school year. We hope to see you there! 💚

Superintendent Blackmer and an interview committee has selected Holly Bruning as the new Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction effective July 1, 2025. Holly comes to us from Lawrence Public Schools where she has served as the MS/HS Principal for the past two years. Holly also has been a high school teacher for Kalamazoo Public Schools for ten years. She holds a bachelors, masters, and a specialist in educational leadership certification from Western Michigan University. Welcome Holly!

Madelyn Wilke has been selected as the new Kindergarten Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. Madelyn has been student teaching and substitute teaching for the past two years. She graduated from Michigan State University with her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. She is currently enrolled at Michigan State University working on her Master of Arts in Teaching and Curriculum. She is endorsed in both PK-3 and TESOL. Welcome Madelyn!

As staff checked the school grounds this morning, it was discovered that Redwood Elementary has no power. Due to this power outage, Hartford Public Schools will be closed today, Friday May 16. Graduation is still planned for tonight at 6pm, as the High School still has power. Mientras el personal revisaba las instalaciones de la escuela esta mañana, se descubrió que la Escuela Primaria Redwood no tiene electricidad. Debido a este corte de luz, las Escuelas Públicas de Hartford permanecerán cerradas hoy, viernes 16 de mayo. La graduación está programada para esta noche a las 6 p. m., ya que la escuela preparatoria aún tiene electricidad.
